But it is not about the design of this smartphone anymore; the whole Danger OS is now replaced by the Google Android OS 2.2 Froyo by which this device has much more to offer than just being text messaging friendly smartphone. Following are the specifications and features of the T-Mobile Sidekick 4G.

User Interface

User interface of the device is bit different from other Android smartphones. Custom kick UX interface is actually on top of the Froyo OS with which users can customize the panels of the home screen with different wallpapers and themes that are bit flashier and will definitely be liked by the young users of the device. Lock screen is multifunctional and the functionality is customizable. Pressing upward opens the user defined application and pressing downward opens the last screen or the application the user was working on.

The device has quad band technology and has Qik application which supports video calling for which a front facing camera is available, video sharing, voice dialing, conference calling, multimedia and text messaging. Device is equipped with lithium ion battery with 1500 mAh power that supports the talk time of about 6.5 hours and has 18 days of standby time.

Overall the device is really good with great good keyboard and messaging capabilities. However, the user interface of the device may not be like by everyone. Moreover, if you look at what the device offers in $100 retail price then it is really great. So, for the users who text extensively then this device is the best but those who want to experience the Android platform to its full then should consider other higher end Android smartphones.
